While cooking, you need a clean kitchen to maintain the hygienic health of the family. You need to identify the areas in your kitchen which gets dirty every day and then make it a habit to clean it regularly. Whenever you are washing your dishes, cutting fishes, meat and washing it or you are washing vegetables some part of it may clog your drain.

A sink does not basically clean all by itself. What you have to do is use your hands to remove any sort of food item, which is stuck in the drain. Sometimes you can smell a bad odor coming out from your kitchen drain. A simple home remedy for this is to pour boiling water over the drain for about 15 to 20 minutes, make sure that you take care and you don’t burn your hand.

After this you immediately need to pour a teaspoon of baking soda and again pour hot water. Baking soda has the quality to clean the awful odor which is coming out. If you see that this remedy is failing, then you can use acid or bleach, a cup of it and pour this over the drain. Let this stay for half an hour.

You can get a drain scrubber with which you can clean up the drain or you can use corrosive drain cleaners or bacteria cleaners which are available at any nearby grocery. When you are washing your dishes, you first need to clean them and then you throw the leftover food into your dustbin and then you start washing the dishes.

After every wash, run hot water so that there is no odor left. Again once a week you need to pour a cup of vinegar down the kitchen sink drain. In the hardware store or a grocery store, you also get a hand drain cleaner which looks like a snake. Once a while use this cable inside the drain to clean the resistance or to push the dirt through the pipe and then pour hot water down the drain.

In order to keep your drain clean and your kitchen odorless, once a week pour a cup of white vinegar and every 3 to 4 months use a non caustic drain cleaner. If you want a good odor coming out from the drain, pour a few drops of lemon juice over it to have a nice smell.
