Many of us last minute shoppers will run around on Christmas Eve and many of us avail the great Boxing Day Sale! Most of the big retail names of the industry and high street shops would claim that it’s a fifty percent off on most products they house, whether online or in store. But are these really worth your money or just another marketing gimmick to encourage you to part with your cash and draw a big bill in the bargain.
What is really a good sale are the ‘end of season’ sales in January! The sale prices you find in January are definitely worth a go, and if you are clever enough, you could even buy in January to stock up on pressies for the coming Christmas twelve months in advance! Although a majority of us will never do that, those of us that do the advance planning in shopping can bag excellent deals and save quiet a bundle of quid! Always remember to start shopping early. Many retailers will showcase their end of season discounts as early as after Boxing Day! Keep an eye out for these sale dates. When you actually come down to looking at the item you wish to purchase, look at the price and not the discount! More than often prices will be hiked and then a discount tag put on to. So it is important to look at the price and not the discounted rate. There has always been a thing with numbers. You find a price tag that says £29.99 and you get this feeling it only costs 20-something, when it is actually 30 quid! So beware of prices and be looking for numbers. Be sure to make a list of all that you need, so that you don’t go over board and get carried away shopping! Arm yourself with a list at all times. If you have a time and resources, it is always a very good thing to compare prices online or at different stores. Read reviews everywhere that they are provided. Reviews are always best to read, especially the negative ones with one or two stars. You know what your product feels like for those that are difficult to please, easy to please or simply practical!
And lastly, if your short of money and are on a tight budget, it does not matter if you miss the sale. Never spend more than you can afford. There is a wide margin there. We always tend to get a little irrational when we feel that we’ve missed a big end of season sale or some royal discount! Be calm and relax. Sales, discounts and offers come and go all the year through. You will definitely find a good sale when you’ve got good money in your purse!
