Bingo Winning Strategies
Believe it or not, Bingo players have actually found that there is a strategy to playing the game and that there is more than just dumb luck and chance that you will win. When we here at Wink Bingo looked into this phenomenon, we were nodding our heads at the simplicity of the strategy and we felt it was only fair to share that with you. Everything we review here will be for a 75 ball game of Bingo. It’s the most played around the world and makes things much simpler to deal with.
When you play 75 ball Bingo, a ball is chosen out of a hopper at random. The balls are numbered 1 through 75 and are assigned a letter that spells out the word ‘Bingo’. You basically have a 1:75 chance of pulling, say B1. But here is where Bingo strategy comes into play, and it’s better to use an illustration here to explain it. Say the first ball that is drawn out of the hopper and called is the number 17. Out of 75 balls there are seven numbers that end in the number 7. When that 17 ball was drawn, your chances of drawing another 7 was reduced. You also reduced the chance of a lower number ball being drawn – the number 7 is only one – and you reduced the chance that another odd number ball would be drawn. This falls into the realm of probability.
Additionally, the more balls that have been drawn and called, the smaller your ‘population’ becomes in the hopper and the larger it becomes outside. How does this affect Bingo strategy? Well, the average of 75 is 38, so the fewer balls that are left in the hopper, the closer the numbers that are left in the hopper will be to 38. Of course, this is assuming you are living in a perfect world, but the basic idea here is that the more that is pulled, the better the chance you have of getting the ball that you need.
The best strategy when playing Bingo is actually so much easier than figuring probability and complicated math equations. What it comes down to is how you choose you bingo card. As bingo balls are pulled, there will be an even mix of numbers ending in 0 through 9, odd and even numbers, and high and low numbers. Look over your Bingo card and make sure that the numbers on the card are spread evenly over the highs and lows, odds and evens, and ending digits. Pay particular attention to lines that have the free space and how they are laid out.
This is the best strategy we can offer you in order to get the laws of probability to lean your way. No one can predict how the balls will draw, but playing with a fairly well spread out card you can better your chances at being able to yell ‘Bingo’.
